4NML Haus
A house built for animals, not from them.
4NML ("For Animal") began with a recognition that could not be unseen. Animals were never separate from us. They were only placed at a distance, turned into symbols, materials, and background.
Fashion has always understood power. What we wear moves through the world before we do. It carries taste, memory, status, and belief.
4NML exists to move that power in another direction. A luxury house built without animal-derived materials. A slower way of making. A structure designed to return value to the animals for whom this house was created.
The Work
The value of each piece reflects the care invested in its making: material, labor, time, transport, and the purpose built into the house.
We work with materials selected not only for their appearance, but for their structure, durability, and longevity. Our raw denim comes from Candiani, an Italian mill whose approach combines generations of textile expertise with continued investment in lower-impact manufacturing.
Organic cotton is chosen for its weight, softness, and cultivation through certified agricultural systems that support healthier soils and ecosystems.
Vegatex AppleSkin, certified by the USDA as 66% biobased and made in part from recovered apple-industry by-product, allows us to create polished surfaces without relying on animal hides.
From the first meter of fabric to the final shipment, every decision is made with the same purpose: to create garments that endure, and a house whose values endure with them.
Made to Order
Production takes place with the Vidin Was Taken atelier in Bucharest, Romania. Each garment is made to order, cut individually from raw material, and shaped with careful attention to proportion, weight, and line.
Construction is carried out by skilled hands rather than anonymous mass production. Detailed stitching, finishing, and placement are given the time they require.
Making each piece to order allows us to avoid producing inventory without an intended wearer while giving every garment individual attention from the moment it is cut to the moment it leaves the atelier.
Nothing is produced in excess. Each piece comes into form for its intended wearer.
For Animals. Forever.
At least half of all profits are permanently committed to sponsorship support for animal sanctuaries and welfare organizations. This structure is not seasonal. It does not change with collections or scale.
The commitment is part of the house itself. Not a campaign. Not an afterthought. A permanent reason for the work to exist.
It also shapes what we create. 4NML designs without animal-derived leather, fur, silk, wool, down, or feathers and participates in the Fur Free Retailer Program as part of that lasting commitment.
Beyond What Is Worn
The house extends beyond clothing through the Pack, a system that recognizes contributions made for animals and the living world.
Purchases can build standing. So can volunteering, fostering, adopting, donating, attending events, and taking meaningful action for animals.
The Pack becomes a way of recognizing not only what is owned, but what is given.
A Different Inheritance
Luxury has long measured value through rarity, ownership, and status.
4NML asks a different question: what if luxury could also be measured by the good it leaves behind?
